ABOUT: The Flying D Ranch is a spectacular, 113,613-acre property located in southwestern Montana. The property operates as a working ranch managed for the production of bison and wildlife. The property’s terrain ranges from steep, wooded land on the south end to rolling meadows in the central portion and high-rolling bench topography on the north end. A suitable habitat for a variety of native wildlife, the Flying D is home to established populations of mule deer, white-tailed deer, Rocky Mountain elk, Rocky Mountain gray wolves, Shiras moose, pronghorn antelope, black bear, mountain lions, badgers and more. In addition to these species, golden and bald eagle sightings are made throughout most of the year.
HUNTS: Turner Ranch Outfitting utilizes the services of its longtime contracted outfitter, Montana Hunting Company, on its Flying D Ranch property. The Flying D offers some of the highest quality elk hunts in the state of Montana, which are conducted each fall. The ranch also offers bison hunts during the months of July and August when the bison are in rut.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Elk hunters stay on property at what is known as Cow Camp, providing rustic, yet comfortable, accommodations on the banks of Cherry Creek. Bison hunters may opt to stay at a hotel of their choosing in the neighboring community of Gallatin Gateway, MT or in the town of Bozeman, located approximately a 30-minute drive from The Flying D Ranch.
